who are interested in Filming or taking photography of the World
Heritage Sites in India or any other special photography which requires
prior permission from Government of India.
The following guidelines will help you to decide if you wish
to apply for special permission to film.
- Government of India issues special VISA for the purpose of
Filming. Please be advised that under the Normal Tourist Visa
to India, you will not be able to Film / Shoot / Professional
Photography etc.
- While applying for the VISA you will have to declare with
the concerned Indian Consulate / Embassy the purpose of the
visit + synopsis of programme advising places they would like
film/ shoot. Group will also have to inform the consulate/ embassy
about the ground handler in India i.e. INDIAN SUMMERS in this
case. The Indian Consulate / Embassy will then accordingly advise
the right process, documentation and the fee required to for
this kind of visa.
- They will have to declare all the places of interest where
they want to Film/Shoot / Photograph so that the Embassy / Consulate
can then send the messages to the relevant departments in India
through the External Affairs Department as per the laid procedures,
this process takes aprox. 30 days or more to get all the necessary
authorizations from the respective departments.
- Equipment/ camera details needs to given concerned India
Consulate / Embassy for the necessary permission.
